First Tracks is a daily ski-line puzzle made by Duffy Ventures, LLC. The short version: there are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. The game is designed so that almost everything stays on your device. This page lists the exceptions in full.
What stays on your device
- Your play history, streaks, stats, and drawn lines — stored locally, and optionally synced between your own devices through your personal iCloud, which we cannot read.
- Your settings, including notification preferences.
- Daily notifications — scheduled on the device itself. There is no push-notification server.
What leaves your device, and why
- Score validation. When you finish a daily run while online, the app sends your drawn line, the day's date, and your Game Center player identity to our validation server. The server replays your line under the same physics to verify the score and to enforce the three-drops-a-day limit. This data is kept for about two days for duplicate and rate-limit checks, then deleted. It is never sold, shared, or used for anything else.
- Leaderboards. Verified scores are published to Apple's Game Center under your Game Center profile and Apple's own terms.
- Purchases. The Season Pass and Lifetime Pass are processed entirely by Apple. We never see payment details. Ownership is restored through your Apple ID.
- Content downloads. The app may fetch mountain data from our content servers. These are ordinary web requests; we do not use them to identify or profile you.
What we do not do
- No accounts, no sign-up, no email collection.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No tracking across apps or websites, in the App Store's sense of the word or any other.
- No third-party analytics SDKs. If we ever add anonymous usage analytics to understand how the game is played, this page will say so — plainly, and before that version ships.
- No selling of data, of any kind, to anyone.
Children
First Tracks does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. There is nothing to collect an account from.
Your choices
- Play offline — the daily bowl works without a network; scores simply are not validated or published until you are online.
- Skip Game Center — without it, nothing identifying ever reaches our validation server.
- Turn notifications off any time in the app's Settings.
